Bells Balls

Does anyone have a reccomendation for a durable, tough cat toy?

I love my cat to pieces, absolutely love him but, he's tearin' up his toys. All he's down to now are a few balls with bells in them, a little green mouse, and a squeaky toy, and they might not be around for long.^^; I have a scratchboard with catnip on it and he's about done with that too.

Is there anything out there that will keep him occupied but, won't fall apart due to his roughousing?

Thank you!^^

With nine cats around here (and each one with all their claws!)I go through a whole lotta toys. I buy those corrugated scratching boxes practically by the six-pack refill and don't even bother with the outer box. I just set them on the floor and kitties rip them to shreds in a few weeks. It's worth it to have many of them around lest kitties get bored and start tearing up the furnishings.

Do you have one of those vertical scratching posts wrapped with sisal rope? Sisal lasts a really long time. If you can get a length of it as rope you can use it as a "string" toy. I wouldn't use polyester or cotton; one isn't natural and the other is so soft it doesn't last.

I buy toy mousies by the dozen. I got myself a cannister of dried catnip and store a few mousies in there at a time. Kitties just love getting those specially-infused mousies.

Sometimes I go to the craft store and buy those pre-packaged wood turnings for my craft projects. It just occurred to me that wood, and some of those turnings, would make great long-lasting toys. You can find everything from round balls through flower pots to wheels. What a great selection of shapes he would have! Just make sure that they're not small enough to swallow or break into tiny bits that can be swallowed.

I hope some of this helps. And BTW, your cat sounds just adorable with all that energy. I like the way you describe him, too; it's obvious you love him. :)
