Drum Loose

What is a matter with my Rock Band 2 Drum cymbals?

I bought the rock band 2 cymbal add-on for my rock band 2 drums and almost everytime i hit one of them it counts as me hitting it twice. this still happens whether there tightend or loose.
I really dont want to return them so does anybody have any suggestions on how to fix them?

thats what i thought at first but they will only work if i hit them as soft as i can

I've had more or less the same problem with my electronic drums a couple of years ago.

What happened is that I was hitting the cymbal but not pulling the stick off of it quickly enough so the cymbal would go down under the hit pressure of the hit and immediately come back up and hit the stick again causing the cymbal to automatically re trigger.

Only difference with your RockBand is that it counts for a second hit (and can potentially damage your high score performance!). Try to hit the cymbal and pull back as quickly as possible. One good way to do this (be indulgent here I'm trying to explain something that can be pretty easy to understand if I'd show you but that's a little harder to verbalize!) is to "sweep" your cymbals. Trying not to hit them directly (at 6 o'clock for example) rather a little on the sides (5 or 7) and in a circular motion - we're talking the motion of your arms in the air and not the stick on the cymbal.
