Flat Spacer

The problem I have is that I need to make a crossing tailored for connection to a steering rack k-members, due to the alignment of the two I have to do a custom spacer so that both fit flat surfaces against each other, and I am unable to buy something for her. Teflon and would hold up as polyurethane would or is the material is too low, I had already solved the problem with rubber sleeve, which has deteriorated from the heat, my problem with Teflon is that it wont hold up aginst the pressure as in strength, but again it only acts as a spacer thickness. Suggestions? Teflon as in the white hard plastic, no tapes.
interesting .. If "Rubber" can not stand the heat, so are we talking about more 80C? and if so, then most of polyurethanes may not like the temperature is. "Teflon hard platic white"? do you mean a Teflon gortex product? rather than a pure Teflon. because new products ive used gortex are very different from pure solid Teflon, graphite or glass filled Teflons solid. Sealants are gortex fantastic, unbelievable, extremely durable, resistant chemicals and a good memory. I do not know what kind of gap you have in mind, but the sheet material goes to 3.2mm thick. If it's a big difference 4 mm or more of memory is important and a polyurethane can be better as "Ecorubber 2 FPM, FKM" which can take the temperature. I do not know who your local supplier would be. If you had the stuff in your hand and I saw the specs, I think you would be very impressed (which is a rubber super temp). probably my first choice for you, but find locally may be a problem. cheers
