I try to prepare for this test but I need to know where I can see the model for this test. Hopefully this can be done here on the Internet ... I have no time to practice. Coupons steel 3 / 8 with carbon plate. I need to get 6 beads in that sting 22.5 are beveled. Space 1 / 4 inch between the two plates ... with the support plate. The cord of the root is 7018 ... each bead is 6 7018. There is no HOT PASS or WEAVE allowed. Just six pearls right. I am looking for a design layout for the beads. The position in the groove for each of the six beads and direction of the stem as it would relate to the groove and bevels. I understand that the ball overlap each other by about 1 / 3 but I'm not sure of the sequence and position of all the beads and the direction they should be worked. The Washington Association of Building Officials (WABO) has aa schematic of this test with many others on their website. The site is large enough so I will not give you a link to the exact page. Same with the AWS website. But I can tell you when I took it consisted of two 1 "plates, 8" long and beveled at 30 degrees with a 1 / 8 "ground. The carrier strip was 5 / 32 "and 1 / 4" spacing was maximum. I have woven cap. As for the root and fill passes you must use the normal sequence in a multi-pass welding. At the top of the root to a spar of the left side, about half of the muzzle, the other on the top half of the first pearl. Pearl # 3 # 2 beaded links on the left side and the bevel on the right side. All layers of filling are built in the same way. I'm feeling generous, so here's my best advice. You have to rock your wrist very hard to wash welding on the sides of the bevel. If you do not, you'll end up with too convex ball and wagon trails / slag inclusions / undercutting the sides welds. Try to keep your pearls as flat as possible, even when you are filling convex.
