Oval Barrel
Posted in Beds | No Comments »Is this real or a reproduction?
I was in an antique store and I found an old musket rifle. The owner said that it was pre-civil war and guranteed it was not a reproduction. She had no papers to prove it but said that she bought three from some guy and she sold two already. It was priced at 100 dollars which is a good price for a musket of that age. it was cracked around the butt of the gun and it's barrel was...i duno wat the word for it is at the moment, it had the look of those old bullet balls they used. Anyways the trigger didn't move but I couldn't tell if that was because it was rusted and aged so much or if it was because it wasn't supposed to. It looked like the wood was carved straight out of a log and there were two squarish ovals along the rifle for the strap. So is it a reproduction or a legitimate gun. Also should I buy it or ask more questions?
